NAG 1: Student Achievement           

We want to challenge children to meet their full potential at primary school, while giving them a strong foundation

 for their future learning – at secondary school and beyond. 

All students must make progress – we must ensure their individual learning needs are identified and met.

We recognise that Student achievement in Literacy is fundamental to success in all other learning areas.

 Achievement in Numeracy is also fundamental. 

The New Zealand Curriculum is acknowledged as our guiding document.

 It gives direction, guidance and information to teachers and guides planning and contexts for learning in the eight

specific learning areas.                    

 1. Delivery of the Curriculum 

Staff will ensure that the school curriculum delivery at their class level is consistent with the NZ Curriculum

Programmes must be based on the needs of the pupils

 All curriculum areas, with an emphasis on literacy and numeracy particularly in years  1 – 4

Style and format of the planning is the responsibility of the teacher

Staff development programme will be based on appraisal and review outcomes and the school development plan

Provision will be made in the budget for resource requirements.
